Maori Point Vineyard
2011 Maori Point Pinot Noir
The 2011 vintage in Central Otago had a cooler than normal summer, and as a result our 2011 Pinot Noir is lighter in colour, with classic aromatics and elegant structure. It's often accused of tasting Burgundian (high praise in the wine world), and it pairs wonderfully with food. Unfiltered and unfined to allow full expression of the rich Pinot Noir flavour. Awarded a silver medal at the New Zealand International Wine Show, and 4 stars from wine critic Sam Kim.
Technical notes: pH 3.6, alcohol 13.8%. Two ferments: a blend of clones with conventional fermentation; and single-clone 10/5 with natural fermentation. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels, 20% new, and bottled without fining or filtration. Vegan friendly.
