2013 Maori Point Pinot Noir
Despite early frosts and the rapid onset of winter weather at the end of harvest, the warm summer and dry autumn of 2013 set the stage for an exceptional vintage. The grapes were harvested by hand, and fermentation was performed by our native wild yeasts. The wine matured in french oak barrels, and was bottled without fining, filtering, or any other processing. Vegan-friendly.
Intense and complex. The nose opens with dark cherry, plum, dried herbs, and hints of game and truffle. On the palate the fruit intensity continues, layered with wood spice and dark savory notes. Powerful and well-structured, yet delivered within a plush texture, we expect this wine to age well for ten years after release.
