If you don't believe it is possible for Pinot Noir in a can to be any good, you need to try The Dux. This is not mass-market grape juice processed in a factory and jammed into a can. This is some of our best 2024 Pinot Noir, hand harvested from Māori Point Vineyard (where we follow sustainable and regenerative practices, and encourage ecosystem biodiversity). After ripening perfectly on the vine, the grapes were harvested and the wine was made naturally (to be precise: in small batches, made by wild yeasts from the vineyard with minimal human intervention, unfiltered, and with minimal sulphites).

The resulting wine is a beautiful expression of Central Otago. With a studiously graceful balance of forest berries, caramel, and savoury hints, followed by a long finish and an edge of youthful but well-educated tannins, The Dux is both fresh and elegant. and the silky mouthfeel is unmistakably Māori Point.  

All of that is why we think The Dux really is top of her class, and she's ready to take on the world.

But you may still ask, why the can? The 330mL can is not only the perfect serving size - good for 2-3 nice glasses - it is also ultra convenient, so easy to bring along for tramping, skiing, beach, picnic, concert. Equally important, the aluminium can is by far the most environmentally friendly way to package wine.

 If you're still skeptical about the quality of wine in a can, just remember: for many years, most of the world didn't believe you could have high quality wine closed with a screwcap instead of a cork.
